Grocery Bag Fee!

I've been hearing/reading about grocery stores adding a bag fee if you do not use your own bag. I think multiple cities are trying to pass this into action. I know Philly is trying to get it going and I saw this in the Seattle Times.

I think its an amazing idea and basically it just so much more easier to have your own bag while out shopping and they can also be fashionable.

Untitled

She said "slow your words down, they will still be here tomorrow"
I said "you never know when tomorrow won't come"

You look forward while I look back
You can't stand old pictures while I need them to fall asleep
Your anxious to open all those lock doors and opportunities
I seat in this chair and think which one will be closed for me

Nothing ever stops and nothing slows down
Playing catch up is nothing new to me
But I got my reasons, oh I got my reasons

I have not had the right answer in 8 years and never say the right thing
My words get stuck in my throat like they are afraid to see the light
Until they rush out of me like they were afraid of the night
A jumbled mess of incoherent thoughts, full of bullshit, oh Im so full of shit

Racist Movie Poster

I was at New Deck Tavern playing quizzo on Wednesday night when I noticed this poster. Although, I've seen the poster numerous of times and have commented on the outright racist language. On this day I got particularly upset.

Its still hard for me to believe that something this awful can be displayed at a so called liberal college bar. They refer to Native Americans as SAVAGES for Christ sakes.

But, I guess like myself and most people who may see this poster have the following reaction: read it, get upset, and then drink their beer. Whats wrong with us. Maybe we are conditioned to allow such bigotry towards Native Americas because none us really know one real NATIVE AMERICAN as we have killed most of them and put the surviving population in some of the worst places in America like cattle.

I guess the actions or should I say non-actions displayed by myself others is not really that surprising when there is still an inscription on a monument at Little Big Horn Cemetery that reads: "to the soldiers killed in Montana while clearing hostile Indians away... "

The more things change and more things stay the same...

My MACAFRAMA cure

For the 5th consecutive day I've come home and checked the mail looking for the MACAFRAMA dvd and for 5th consecutive day I have been disappointed. So, until then I will just keep watching my favorite track bike video.

Goofy as shit but it makes you want to get off the computer and get on your bike with some friends and ride bicycles.

Until MACAFRAMA comes this will have to do.

This looks sick!

Two Cool Picture books for those who hate reading.

First Beryl Fine's

Everyone who loves great photographs and trackbikes or just urban culture needs to peep this new book.

Its photographs of 23 different bike messengers in San Francisco. I recognize some of the fellas from MACAFRAMA and MASH fame. Overall, these photographs look amazing and the beauty of bikes mixed with the style of each of different riders is so sick.

Second Matt Lingo's

A mixture of LA (I know I hate that place too) and urban riding. Best pictures I have seen with people riding through/in traffic. I guess what we do is very dangerous but doesn't it look so fun!

So check, check check it out!

New Bike!!!!!!

Today I FINALLY ordered my new bike. After months, probably 6 or more, of deliberation I made up my indecisive mind and made Torrelli Corsa Pista my new project.

I was going back and forth with the Torelli frame and the 2009 bianchi D2 superpista which is an amazing track bike. But, due to my aggressiveness/location (Downtown Philly) I believe a solid steel frame is better match for my riding style.

The picture posted is the frame I have but mine will be a solid black frame with the same Red Decals. This frame well hopefully roll smooth with my custom wheels, courtesy of bikerevolutions, which will be Phil Wood Hubs (black or white?) laced to the new Velocity B43, which are just ridiculous deep(insert sexual innuendo here)
